Stained Glass Windows

Repairs & Resoration

Richard Putman Doncaster Stained GlassMy journey into stained glass started about ten years ago when I went to evening classes run by John Michael. Over two years I learned the techniques of Tiffany style copper foiling used for the production of decorative stained glass items such as lampshades, terrariums, mirrors etc. and Lead Came work for the production of items including leaded window panels etc.

My first major project was to create stained glass panels to complete a Victorian entrance in a house in Doncaster where the lower panels were missing. The eight panels I created match the original ones above the door. Since then I have gone on to refurbish many  stained glass panels in Victorian and Edwardian houses in Doncaster as well as create new panels to match existing ones.

The largest project I have undertaken was to make 12 new stained glass panels for a coaching house to replace the windows that were beyond repair. These panels were then encapsulated into double glazing to preserve the original look of the building while giving the benefits of insulation provided by the double glazing.

Please look around my website and feel free to contact me if you have a project to discuss.
